The Northern Saw-whet Owl (Aegolius acadicus) is one of North America’s smallest and most easily overlooked owls. Barely larger than a robin, it spends daylight hours concealed in dense foliage and becomes active after dusk. Finding one is rarely a matter of scanning open fields.
